Web 2.0

The title of this video, "The Machine is Us/ing us", sounds kind of creepy, but is ultimately true. Technology seems to be taking over the world, and with the knowledge humans keep investing into the web it will continue to grow. We are the web and we control how much it takes over. The internet is a valuable resource and allows the world to connect in ways it never has before.
To someone in the workforce the web is both helpful and, in some ways, hurtful. The web helps connect people from all over the world and it is extremely easy to make contact with everyone in a matter of minutes. Also, a company is able to post anything on the internet about themselves and expose the company. Another way that the web effects people in the workforce now is that it creates more jobs. Every company now needs an Internet Technology branch to help with web design and help the internet run smoothly. The internet is harmful in the way that people in the workforce lose human contact and work becomes less professional. Also, everything that is posted on the internet has a way of being exposed. Therefore, people must be careful of what goes up on the internet because it may be seen by anyone.
I believe that when the video says that we have to rethink everything it means that people have to be aware of the power of the web. Everyone must realize that anyone has access to the internet. Also, people have to remember when to use the internet and when a written document or human interaction is more appropriate. Ultimately the web is taking over the world, which is very good, but can result in some bad.

Introduction

Hey! My name is Brianne and I'm a Junior majoring in Accounting. I have lived in Massachusetts my whole life and the south has been a completely different experience, some bad some good. Sometimes I've found that it's difficult to adjust to the southern life style, but going to college here has allowed me to grow and experience different things. After graduating, I would love to go back to the North and work in a big city. I graduated high school from my small hometown, Norton, which is about 30 minutes from Boston. In high school I ran cross country, winter, and spring track. I'm a huge sports fan and I'm devoted to the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics (and of course Clemson). I love being with my family and friends. I'm also a very outgoing and active person and I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys!
